Bangladeshi entrepreneur Salahuddin Ali has been awarded an honorary Doctorate Degree by the Global Human Peace University in recognition of his remarkable contribution to the hospitality and healthcare industries — particularly for innovative concepts, modern management, human-centric service delivery and ensuring international standards. This international honor is being regarded not only as a personal achievement, but also as a matter of pride for Bangladesh.
The honorary doctorate was conferred at a special convocation held on Friday (17 October 2025) at the BMICH International Convention Center in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The degree was handed over by the Vice-Chancellor of the university in presence of members of the Board of Trustees and distinguished international academics.
The ceremony was attended by invited guests, policymakers, dignitaries and researchers from Sri Lanka, India and other countries. Notable attendees included former President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena, legendary Sri Lankan cricketer Chaminda Vaas, Indian Hollywood actor Ali, Dr. Amarjit Singh, Mr. Zakir Hossain, Azora Sharma and Masum Billal Fardeen — Cultural Wing Member of the Pakistan High Commission in Bangladesh, among others.
For years, Salahuddin Ali has been working in both sectors through commendable combinations of business excellence, customer-focused service, technology-enabled administration and strong human values.
In its official statement, the university noted: “By establishing international standards in the humanitarian sectors such as healthcare and hospitality, and by leading businesses with welfare and peace at the core, Salahuddin Ali has set a remarkable example. He stands as a role model for emerging entrepreneurs.”
In an emotional response after receiving the honor, Salahuddin Ali said:
“I am grateful to the Global Human Peace University. This recognition increases my sense of responsibility. I believe business is not only about profit — its true goal is to serve mankind, establish peace and promote welfare. Receiving such a prestigious honor abroad is one of the biggest achievements of my life, and it will inspire me to shoulder greater responsibilities in the future.”
Speakers at the event remarked that Salahuddin Ali’s leadership proves that when business and human values progress together, sustainable development can be achieved in the national economy, employment generation and public health sectors.
Experts believe that this global recognition will open new doors for international investment, research and collaboration, bringing Bangladesh’s hospitality and healthcare industries into stronger focus on the global stage.
